I’m going to give you double the answers this week…one book I’m reading, and the 2nd is the audiobook I’m currently listening to while commuting.
I’m Reading:
1. Rest in Peach by Susan Furlong
2. Sorry, left my book at home today without getting my quote from page 34, so here’s something from another page….
“She just called her a backstabbing snob, that’s all. That’s not the same as threatening to stab someone”.
3. I think I would like to visit Georgia, especially during peach season, but the times I’ve visited it’s been a little too humid for me to want to live there.
I’m Listening to:
1. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon
2. Again, no quote form page 34….since it’s an audiobook, I’ll have to give you a random quote (or three). These do a decent job of illustrating the protagonist’s thought process.
Metaphors are lies.
I find people confusing.
And then I thought that I had to be like Sherlock Holmes and detach my mind at will to a remarkable degree so that I did not notice how much it was hurting inside my head.
3. This story takes place in what feels like a typical small town, but seeing it through Christopher’s eyes, I’m not sure I’d want to live there. I can’t even put my finger on the reason why, but the place makes me feel a little uneasy.

The Book's the Thing 
1) I’m reading Murder on the Half Shelf by Lorna Barrett.
2) “Despite their amicable parting, Tricia did not invite Chief Baker to accompany her inside her store.”
3) Normally, yes, I would like to live in Stoneham, NH. But the above quote reflects the tone in this book in the series as most of the main characters are upset with each other – even the usually nicest and kindest of them. I know a lot of readers don’t like books where most everyone is kind and easy to get along with, but I read to relax and all the tension and hurt feelings aren’t very relaxing. 😦 I’m hoping this isn’t a new trend in this series because I’ve really liked the other books in it.

I agree – reading about too much tension puts me on edge! I’ve got the first few in this series but haven’t read them yet. I’m glad to hear you liked them.

I’m reading ‘A Clue in the Stew’ by Connie Archer.
Page 34 – Lucky finished laying placemats along the countertop, then unlocked the front door and flipped the sign over. As for living there, Vermont is a nice place to visit but don’t think I’d move there. Part of The Soup Lover’s Mystery series (maybe book 5).

I’m reading ‘I’ll Never Write My Memoirs’ by Grace Jones.
FASCINATING!
I can’t share a quote, but I will share that she is apparently known for being late, like ALLLLL the time. And she hung out with Andy Warhol and Keith Haring at Studio 54 a lot more than I realized.

It’s kind of an inconsistent read – I think she recorded it digitally and someone transcribed, because some of the passages are unfocused and repetitive. I find myself rereading passages just to be clear on who she’s talking about. But it is STILL a fascinating read, would definitely recommend!
