I would have to find the word for fear of eating alone in a restaurant with nothing to read because I live in a small city/town that has no public transportation. 🙂

That would be tragic! 😄

I’m not totally phobic about it, but there have been times I’ve passed on a chance to eat out when having a shopping day or such because I realize I forgot to put my Kindle in my purse. Or times I’ve had lunch at Barnes & Noble so I can buy a book to read while I’m eating.

I’ve done that at B&N too – just grab something off the shelf before heading to the cafe. Restaurants should consider a “take-a-book / leave-a-book” shelf somewhere for single diners!

Yes they should! That’s a great idea. 🙂 That would solve the whole problem – I folks like us wouldn’t have to pass up having a meal at their establishment just because we forgot our book. 🙂

Totally agree with you – snatch moments when I can wherever I can like you, and my heart sinks down into my boots if I open my bag anywhere and realise I have nothing at all to read…

I’ve even resorted to reading an ebook on my phone screen – may cause eye strain, but it is better than nothing. 😉

Oh my, I never want to read on public transport, or at the doctor’s … I always feel the book/magazine deserves my full attention and can only read when it’s the one thing I’m doing!

I’m just the opposite – I so rarely get time to devote entirely to reading that I try to squeeze a chapter in whenever I get the chance! 🙂
