Top Ten Tuesday / Playlist Shuffle Tag

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every Tuesday they post a new Top Ten list prompt. This week it’s about music and books. I’ve decided to combine this week’s top ten list with a recent tag, since it was also music related. The Orang-utan Librarian tagged me to do the Playlist Shuffle Tag. (The tag requires putting my music player on random, and listing the first 15 songs to come up, no skipping! I’m cheating a bit by doing only 10.) Here are my songs, and the books whose soundtracks I think the songs would belong on, if books had soundtracks. Wish me luck… 🙂

Would You Rather Book Tag

Would You Rather Book Tag

Thanks to The Hidden Staircase for tagging me! If you don’t follow her wonderful blog, be sure to go check it out. Some of these were tough, but here goes….

Would you rather only read trilogies or only read stand-alones?
I’d have to choose trilogies. I love discovering a series that’s already several books in so I can keep reading about a group of characters, and I’d miss that if I could only read stand-alones.

Would you rather only read male or female authors?
Female – I’d REALLY miss James Rollins, Douglas Preston,  and Lincoln Child, but I have to be able to read (and re-read) Agatha Christie, MC Beaton, and JK Rowling.

Would you rather shop at Barnes and Noble or Amazon?
Barnes and Noble. I do love to 1-click ebooks on Amazon, but anytime I get to wander around with a cup of coffee in my hand surrounded by books, I am a happy girl.

Would you rather books were made into TV shows or movies?
Usually I’d say neither, but if it’s well done, then make it a TV show so it can go on and on.

Would you rather read only 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?
No question – 5 books per week! (oh, if I only had that kind of free time…)

Would you rather be a professional author or reviewer?
An author – I keep trying NaNoWriMo in November (I’ve only made it as far as 30,000 words, but one of these years I will finish!), and I think it would be exciting to see my name on the cover of a book.

Would you rather be a librarian or a bookseller?
I’d want to own my own bookshop rather than sell in someone else’s, but if I could manage that, then bookseller would be fun.

Would you rather read only your favorite genre, or every other genre but your favourite?
Only my favorite – I’d miss everything else, but can’t live without my mysteries. Besides, I’m sure I could find mysterious sci-fi, literary mystery, etc… 🙂

Would you rather only read ebooks or physical books?
I read both equally, but if I had to choose one, I’d choose physical books. I wouldn’t give up my collection, and they would be pointless if I couldn’t read them.

Beautiful Blogger Award

Mollyeyablog has been kind enough to nominate me for the Beautiful Blogger Award. 🙂 Stop by and check out her blog!

Beautiful-Blogger-Award

The rules are as follows:

Link back to the blogger who took the time to nominate you.
List seven random things about yourself.
Nominate seven creative, beautiful bloggers.
Notify the amazing people that you nominated for the award.

Here are seven random things about me:

1. My favorite pets are cats, but I have had cats, dogs, fish, a bird, a pony, an iguana, and several small reptiles and amphibians at one time or another.

2. I took psychology and sociology courses in college, but work in IT support.

3. I like cilantro.

4. I hate spiders. More than almost anything.

5. I prefer Android / Windows over Apple.

6. Rosemary is my favorite herb – I love the aroma and the taste.

7. I spent my junior year in high school living in Chile as a foreign exchange student. (7.5 – I speak both English and Spanish.)

I know some people love this type of post, and others would rather not do them, so instead of nominating 7 people, I’ll just invite anyone reading this post to share their own list if they are so inclined!
