Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every Tuesday they post a new Top Ten list prompt. This week’s theme is Top Ten Best Books I Read In 2015. You’ll see some overlap with last week’s Top Ten Authors Discovered in 2015 list. It was very hard to narrow it down to 10!! I have read some great books this year. 🙂
Be sure to leave a link to your own post or a comment to let me know what some of your favorites were this year.
10. By Book or By Crook by Eva Gates
I did it backwards – read book 2 first – but I’m really enjoying this series.
9. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
I know this is kind of a love it or hate it book, but I loved it.
8. The Silver Witch by Paula Brackston
The first I read by Paula Brackston, but it won’t be the last!
7. Somebody I Used to Know by David Bell
First David Bell book I read – a great, fast-paced story!
6. Blue Labyrinth by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
I always love a new Pendergast novel. I’m almost finished with the next one, Crimson Shore!
5. Trust No One by Paul Cleave
A new author I discovered this year – can’t wait to read more!
4. The Kill Switch by James Rollins and Grant Blackwood
If you like dogs, you have to love Kane! If you don’t, there’s still Tucker. Great adventure story either way.
3. Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
If you visit often, you may be sick of hearing me gush about this one. 🙂
2. Ashley Bell by Dean Koontz
Just finished, but I really liked this one!
1. The 6th Extinction by James Rollins
Any Sigma Force novel ends up being one of my favorites! Can’t wait to start The Bone Labyrinth. 🙂
I can’t wait to try Ashley Bell! 🙂

Great list! Station Eleven and The Girl on the Train were both on my list too, though I found it quite hard this week. That cover for Station Eleven is beautiful too. I might have to get a physical copy as I bought the Kindle edition. Here’s mine: https://beccaeatsbooksblog.wordpress.com/2015/12/15/top-ten-for-tuesday-best-books-i-read-in-2015/

I do that – buy Nook editions and then have to pick up a physical copy of a book if I really liked it! 😉

It’s a bad habit of mine as I don’t have nearly enough space!

Good list. Not all are my choice but still good choices. I don’t like if they get too intense.

Ah! Station Eleven. I didn’t much care for it at first but after listening to Salon’s Book Podcast on it, I’d like to give it a go.

I enjoyed the language and the writing as much as (or more than) the story.

Sometimes I get a little arbitrary with my picks to only end up with 10. Like, “I had this book on a list recently’ or “This author already made this list,’ etc. Because I really like having 10 exactly.
I enjoyed Station Eleven. There were some phrases especially that were just lovely.

It was very hard to keep it to 10! And you’re right about Station Eleven – some beautiful quotes in that one..

It was a great “unreliable narrator” type thriller!

I read Girl on the Train. It wasn’t my favorite, but I’m not the biggest fan of thrillers. I just wanted to see what everyone else was talking about.

I have read books for that same reason – some live up to the hype and some do not. It totally depends on your preferences, too!

You know, I always find one or more from Erika’s lists, too. I always know I can rely on her for something good to feed my TBR even further. LOL 😛

And if it’s like mine, it really doesn’t NEED any feeding! 😀

I’ve only gone up over 300 books since I started seriously focusing on my blog in September… if you don’t count the amazon book wish list I’ve been doing as well… so yeah… don’t need it!

I used to love the Sigma force novels! Now they just all seem a bit too the same 😦 Good list!! I haven’t picked up anything from Koontz in a long while. My Top Ten of the Year

They can get repetitive, but the characters feel like old friends at this point. 🙂
